This is a character I did yesterday, based off of the AMAZING designs I found on CreatureBox.com. The design was for Insomniac games, and is a Fongoid child.
Did everything yesterday.

New all hard surface demoreel. Lighting is finished on the info room, but I have a lot of other things to work on, still haven’t finalized shading / texturing.
Turntable of the hover droid model, finally got around to rendering it out since I’m prepping my new demoreel!

I just started a quick side project I started to take away any of the free time I might have had :)
The concept art (bottom) is by Aaron Foster (Razorb-art.com/)
I started a few days ago, and I’ve mostly finished the modeling, and I’ve just barely started on lighting. Still a long way to go!

This is my week 1 assignment from CGSociety’s “Texture painting in Mari” course with Justin Holt. The assignment was to concept out the design by doing a paintover on the given model. The model was made by Bruno Melo.

So this model was sent over to the guys at Stir Crazy Studios, I was given permission to post any work I do on it. If it gets approved as is, I’ll start unwrapping.

A quick sketch to nail the mood of a dark space station corridor I did for the JAC project.
Broken concrete ring for around the corporate art in the environment.
I haven’t been able to spend much time on the test, I’ve had a few freelance gigs take up my weekends, and I’m not in a position to turn down the work… Hopefully I’ll be able to upload those here soon as well!
A few quick sketches for the JAC project. They asked for a floating, one-eyed droid, figure I’d give a bunch of different styles to see where to develop.
quicky little sculpt for the environment. Going to crash these through exposed walls, and scatter them in logically located piles throughout the environment.

Sometimes if you want it to look good you have to start over. So after the forums all pretty much agreed on many weaknesses of my building design for my crytek art test, a complete redesign was called for!
sooo heres a real quick paintover of the new building goal. The model was built modularly from 1 512 diffuse map. Also I’m switching to UDK… which I’ve never used before, so we’ll so how it goes.

Just started laying down some base textures on my building, and am using the Marmoset toolbag for the first time.
Also, while I’m updating, a somewhat related note:
Marmoset toolbag at 50 bucks, completely worth the investment. As soon as my trial runs out I’m grabbing it for sure!
Nex tools plug-in for Maya A little more pricey than the Marmoset toolbag, but if you’re coming from Softimage, or (and especially) 3DS Max to modeling in Maya, it’s a must.
Logitech g13 Intended for gaming, but excellent for bouncing between 3D software. Seems every software has it’s own hotkeys and camera controls, if you’re required to use a software you’re not familiar with, or you frequently switch between packages, this will make life a whole lot simpler.
Just my 2 cents. Enjoy!
